What You’ll Need:

• Sound System: Emily Marie provides music on a USB, iPod, or CD. If you have specific song requests or a preferred style, let her know in advance so she can create a custom playlist. Otherwise, she performs to traditional Arabic music. She can also dance to live music—contact her for details.

• Performance Space: Some routines involve props such as a sword (for balancing acts), isis wings, or a cane (raqs assaya). While Emily has experience performing in tight spaces like restaurants, limited space may restrict prop use.

 

Event Coordination & Best Practices:
 

• Main Contact Person: To ensure a smooth experience, please designate a contact person other than the guest of honor or bride. This person should be available upon Emily’s arrival to assist with logistics.

• Surprise Performances: If the performance is a surprise, Emily will coordinate ahead of time to confirm the best entrance point. The contact person will also handle music playback and prop setup as needed.

Tipping Etiquette:
 

• Tipping the dancer is welcomed and appreciated. Many clients include the tip with the final payment.

• Body tipping (placing tips in the hip belt or making a "money shower" above the dancer’s head) is acceptable, as long as it is done respectfully.

• Emily does not collect money from the floor during or after her performance. The designated contact person should gather any tips left on the ground and hand them to her afterward.
